Marion Cub Scouts hold food, toy drive, plan soap box derby

Nov 2, 2015

The Marion Cub Pack 32 is collecting food and toy donations and holding its annual soap box derby this month.

The Cub Scouts will accept nonperishable food donations as well gently used and new toys for local families in need. Collection points are the Marion Police Department and First Congregational Church of Marion until 10 a.m. on Nov. 14.

That same day,  the Scouts will participate in a soap box derby on Holmes Street where they will continue to collect food and toys as well as show off their racing skills.

All are welcome to attend.

Boys in grades first through fifth interested in joining scouts can come meet the group, try one of the derby cars out after the races are finished (approximately 2 p.m.) and hang out in the “pit” with the scouts. There will be parents to answer questions and register new Scouts.

The event is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
