MARION — The Marion Fireworks Fundraising Gala and Auction, on March 23, raised over $5,000.

The Gala included a children’s event in the afternoon with games, cake and ice cream. The committee also hosted an evening gala for adults which included an auction, drinks and appetizers.

Many of the auction items, which were donated by local businesses, were bid at over their dollar values. 

To date the Fireworks Fundraising Committee has raised $42,000 toward the goal of $50,000. 

The bid for the fireworks is out for review and the committee is  planning food trucks for the afternoon of the July 5th event.
