Marion lifeguards keep up with training

MARION — On Thursday, July 18 the Marion Recreation Department Lifeguards conducted a training drill at Silvershell Beach.
Each week the lifeguards conduct weekly training drills throughout the summer season. This particular drill was conducted with the Marion Harbormaster’s Department and the Marion Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department.
“This is a great opportunity for all of the departments to work and train together as one” said Jody Dickerson Director of Recreation. “As a former police chief, emergency medical technician and firefighter I know firsthand how important training and being prepared for any situation is. I have instilled this belief into these lifeguards.”
“These guards this year are outstanding” added Dickerson.
