Marion Natural History Museum summer schedule

The Marion Natural History Museum has several summer programs for kids. The programs are designed for small groups and are limited to 15 children per session. Registration is required.

Summer star lab
On Aug. 3 there will be an opportunity to work with a star lab instructor to explore summer constellations.

Children’s nature journaling workshop
On Aug. 10, the museum will bring in artist and naturalist Tricia Cassidy to teach different ways to observe and draw from nature.

Making artwork from nature
On Aug. 17 there will be a hike around town. Any interesting objects found during the hike will be used to create artwork.

Adult nature journaling program
On Aug. 6 the museum invites adults to work with artist and naturalist Tricia Cassidy to practice nature journaling to observe, document and reflect on nature experiences. The program will be from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and will cost $40 for members and $45 for non-members.

Wednesday meetings
The museum will also host meetings at the museum for three Wednesdays during August, from 1 to 4 p.m., to learn about different topics. The cost is $24 per session for members and $30 per session for non-members.
