The Town of Marion is looking for a new tree warden.

Steve Gonsalves recently resigned from the position, and the Board of Selectmen will need to appoint someone to the position until the 2019 election. It’s too late to get the position on the ballot for this year’s election, Town Administrator Paul Dawson explained, because the ballots have already been sent to the printer.

Whoever is appointed to the position will serve until next year’s election, and then would have to re-run for the remainder of Gonsalves’ term, which would have run until 2020.
