Marion Police apprehend robbery suspect
Officers of the Marion Police Department arrested a Plymouth man on Friday in connection to a house break-in that occurred earlier in the month.
Marion Police, with assistance from members of the Plymouth Police Department and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, arrested Richard T. Auld, 26, with a warrant from an ongoing investigation related to a May 9 break-in at a residence on Blueberry Way.
Auld was charged on five accounts, including breaking and entering, larceny, and malicious or wonton damage or defacement. He was booked at the Marion Police Department and transported to Wareham District Court for arraignment, according to a police report.
On May 9, officers had responded to a call for two suspicious males walking through the wood line in the Blueberry Way neighborhood, according to a police report. Upon arrival, they saw signs of a forced break at one residence as well as a suspicious vehicle parked in a nearby cemetery.
The following day, numerous items were recovered from the vehicle that were connected to Blueberry Way breaking and entering and other area break-ins, according to a statement released by Marion Police.
A warrant was issue for one of the suspects. The identity of the other suspect is still under investigation, said the police report.
