Marion Recreation announces winter programs

Public skating
Open ice skating hours will be held on Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28 from noon to 2 p.m. in Tabor Academy’s Travis Roy Rink, 232 Front St., Marion. All proceeds benefit Marion Recreation youth programs. Cost is $5 per person. Hats and gloves are required for skating.
Girls softball
An informational session for the Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester & Wareham Girls Softball League will be held Feb. 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Sippican School. The league is for girls in grades three through eight.
Soccer fundraiser
The Marion/Rochester Youth Soccer program will sponsor a public skating fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 7 from noon to 2 p.m. Proceeds from the event will purchase new soccer goals. Refreshments will be served. The event will be held at Tabor Academy and costs $5 per person. Hats and gloves are required.
Musical theater class
In this class, children will audition for a role in the musical “The Sound of Music” and learn how to put on a show. Kids will receive lessons on singing, dancing and acting.
Costumes are encouraged but not necessary. This class is for children between the ages of 5 and 13 years old. Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. from Feb. 24 to April 13. The cost for the class is $125.
