Marion scout receives Eagle Scout honor

Marion resident Jack Nakashian was recognized by Troop 32 of Marion in a Court of Honor for meeting all the requirements to achieve the Boy Scouts of America’s highest rank — Eagle Scout.

Nakashian finished his Eagle Scout service project last December. He built a 160-foot elevated walkway on the White Eagle Trail at the end of Parlowtown Road.

Troop 32 Scoutmaster Paul St. Don acted as the master of ceremonies at the ceremony, where he read awarded Nakashian with his Eagle Scout rank badge. Robert Pereira, Troop 32 committee chairman and fellow Eagle Scout, read the "welcome to the Eagle Scout rank." Nakashian also received a citation from Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Currently, Nakashian is attending Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he is studying Marine Engineering.
