Marion Selectman candidate Steve Cushing
Steve Cushing’s municipal résumé spans 12 years, including stints on the Zoning Board and the Finance Committee. But for the last six years he’s served as a Selectmen and says his work there isn’t finished.
The two-term Selectmen said he’s most proud of the work that’s been done to elevate the town’s bond rating to AAA status — the highest rating possible from Standard & Poor.
“That is not easy to get,” he said.
Of the state’s 351 cities and towns Marion is one of 30 to earn the rating.
Cushing said the board’s decision to develop a facilities manager position will benefit the town.
For Cushing, the aging Town House will be an issue. “It’s showing its age and we’ve got to figure out how to address that,” he said.
Cushing holds an associates of science degree in business management and is a plant supervisor.
