MARION — The town’s new officer Jonathan Castro received approval from the Board of Selectmen for a full-time position as a patrolman at the Board’s April 2 meeting. 

Police Chief John Garcia said that Castro finished his basic academy training and served as a full-time officer in Fall River. 

The chief confirmed that the new patrolman met all of the requisites for the position, and that his appointment would fill a vacant officer position.
