Marion shares covid, masking guidance

Aug 3, 2021

MARION — In light of the increasing risk posed by the covid delta variant, Town Administrator James McGrail, Public Health Director Lori Desmarais and the Marion Board of Health issued safety guidance and recommendations in an email to residents on Aug. 2.

The town also shared Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, which encourages those in “areas of substantial and high transmission” to wear a mask in indoor public settings, even if they are fully vaccinated.

In the email, the Town of Marion said its residents “are strongly urged to wear a mask while in indoor public settings.”

Additionally, the Marion Board of Health is recommending that residents favor outdoor activities over indoor activities as well as conduct meetings virtually, when possible.

The town is urging those who have not already been vaccinated to do so. To find a location where you can be vaccinated, visit vaxfinder.mass.gov.
