Mattapoisett Building Inspector Andrew Bobola says it’s been an exceptional year for his department.

“Our activity levels have remained strong compared to years past,” said Bobola. “For a recession, I think we’re very fortunate to have the level of activity that we have in this department.”

From July to September the Building Department collected $120,000 in fees, which already exceeds the $115,000 collected during the previous fiscal year.

“Things continue to look busy,” said Bobola. But he cautioned, “We have to be very conservative. We don’t know if that’s going to level off or drop.”
