Mattapoisett Congregational Church to hold in-person service on Sept. 20

Sep 17, 2020
MATTAPOISETT— The Mattapoisett Congregational Church will be holding its first in-person Sunday morning worship service since March on this Sunday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. on the front lawn of the church.

All who are attending must preregister. Attendance is limited to 50 people. Register by emailing the church at mattcongchurch@gmail.com or by calling the church office at (508)758-2671 and leaving a message. Include the total number attending and a return phone number. Registration is required by noon on Friday, Sept. 18.

All those attending must wear masks at all times and are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer. Social distancing must be maintained unless individuals are living together. Anyone who is feeling ill or has been exposed to someone with the virus in the last two weeks is urged to stay home.

Those in high risk groups who wish to attend are encouraged to come and sit in their cars. Parking spaces will be reserved along the curb on Church Street and Barstow Street in view of the front church steps, which will serve as the pulpit.

There will be a waiting list, so if attendants must cancel, they are asked to do so as early as possible.

Congregants should bring their own folding chairs or blanket to sit on and follow the directions of the Deacons and Ushers. Those who have short beach chairs are encouraged to bring them to sit near the front on the sloped section of the lawn.

In case of inclement weather, services will be cancelled no later than 8 a.m. on Sunday. Check Facebook or email for updates. Others who have registered will receive phone calls.
