The Friends of the Mattapoisett Council on Aging are seeking members to serve on their board of directors. Directors help plan activities and raise funds to provide services for the elderly.

The Friends host events such as the annual holiday party and St. Paddy’s Day Party as well as an end of summer luncheon in September. Fundraising efforts include an annual Easter homemade pie and cake sale. Recently the Friends sold Mattapoisett-themed note cards, totes, aprons and sweatshirts.

The group also send cards and distributes mementos to Mattapoisett seniors. They also provide coffee, tea and cocoa supplies for Senior Center visitors.
