Sep 28, 2020

Mattapoisett Cultural Council is looking for grant proposals through Nov. 16 to support cultural projects and activities in and around Mattapoisett.

Proposals for exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures will all be accepted.

Some previously funded projects include: theatrical, literary, and science programs for children and adults at Mattapoisett Free Public
Library; concerts by Seaglass Theatre Company, SouthCoast Children’s Chorus, and Tri-County Symphonic Band; youth concerts and music education for Mattapoisett students by New Bedford Symphony Orchestra; programs and exhibits at Mattapoisett Historical Society; and in-school and summertime arts and science programs sponsored by the Mattapoisett PTA, Old Rochester Regional High School, and New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance.

The cultural council will distribute about $10,000 in grants in the coming year, according to a press release from the council.
