Mattapoisett Democratic Town Committee endorses Straus, Hall, DaSilva

MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Democratic Town Committee voted unanimously to endorse incumbent William Straus for 10th Bristol Representative, Rahsaan Hall as Plymouth County District Attorney, and Carlos DaSilva as Plymouth County Commissioner during a meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Straus is running against Rick Trapilo in the Democratic Party primary. The winner will face either Republican candidates Robert McConnell or Jeffery Swift in November.

Hall is running unopposed in the party primary and will face incumbent Republican Timothy Cruz in November. 

DaSilva is facing Alex Bezanson in the party primary, and the winner will go against Republican incumbent Sandra Wright, who is the Chairperson of the Plymouth County Commission. 

According to a press release, the Mattapoisett Democratic Town Committee, “voted to be proactive by making these endorsements in advance of the primary in order to assist and inform Democratic voters in Mattapoisett that these candidates will best represent and defend the progressive values and causes of the Democratic party.”
