Mattapoisett has set November 19 as the tentative date for its Fall Town Meeting, and this year’s goal is brevity.

“We want to significantly slim it down to items that need to be taken care of in the fall,” said Town Administrator Mike Gagne.

Selectmen Chair Jordan Collyer said, in the past, he’s gotten an earful from residents who thought there were too many articles on the Town Warrant.

“I ask for no more than 15,” he said. “Ten would be nice. I will not support or sign off on a warrant that has as much as they’ve had in the past.”

Gagne said any items not in need of an immediate decision would be held until spring.
