The Mattapoisett Firefighter's Association with hold a chowder competition on Sept. 13 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus.

The event will raise funds for the association, which has provided the Fire Department with many items of equipment throughout the years.

The rain date for the event is Oct. 10.
