Mattapoisett Selectmen and Building Inspector Andy Bobola honored Building Department employee Mary Scott on Tuesday night.

Scott, 90, was given a certificate to recognize her dedicate service to the town. It was also mentioned she makes the best brownies around.

“You started here fifteen years ago and have helped all the departments,” Bobola said. “We were fortunate enough to get you to find a home in the Building Department.”

He added that a few years ago he went by Scott’s house and saw her on the seventh rung of an extension ladder, cleaning her gutters.

“There’s nothing you can’t do and nothing you haven’t done,” Bobola laughed.

Scott thanked Bobola and the board, and said she enjoys her job.

“Everyone is so pleasant,” she said. “It’s really fun to come to work.”
