MATTAPOISETT — The town received a decision from the Massachusetts Commission on Discrimination to dismiss a complaint filed by Cheryl Martin and Brian Porter regarding the 55+ age requirement for residents of the Mattapoisett Landing condominiums.

The town got word that one tenant did not meet the development’s mandatory 55+ age restriction.

In response, the Town’s Zoning Enforcement Officer issued a cease and desist order to the individual in violation. Litigation with both parties ensued.

In a separate decision dated July 2017, the Massachusetts Land Court upheld the Town’s cease and desist order.

The tenant, who was in violation with the mandatory age restriction, was forced to vacate.
