MATTAPOISETT — Mattapoisett Public Library Director Jennifer Jones has resigned from her position to become the director of the Lakeville Public Library, announced the town of Mattapoisett in a press release.

Jones has served as the Mattapoisett Library’s director since June 2020.

“We are grateful for her leadership of the library through the difficult time of the recent pandemic and for her professional guidance of the library’s service to the community during her tenure as the library director,” wrote the town in a press release. “The trustees and library patrons wish her well in her new position.”

Former library director Susan Pizzolato will be the interim director starting on Dec.1, 2023, until a permanent director is hired, according to the press release.

“We are extremely fortunate that [Pizzolato] is willing to serve as Interim Director,” said Mattapoisett Library Trustees Chair Bill Osier. “From her years of experience, she knows the library and the Mattapoisett community well.”
