The town of Mattapoisett will commemorate Memorial Day on Monday, May 27.

A ceremony will be held at the Mattapoisett Library at 1:30 p.m. In addition to patriotic songs played by the Old Hammondtown School orchestra and an address from Rep. William Strauss, members of the Florence Eastman American Legion Post will lay wreaths on the war memorials.

A parade will follow with a squad salute at Town Wharf for veterans who lost their lives at sea and a salute at Cushing Cemetery for those who lost their lives on land.

The parade will conclude at the Legion Hall with refreshments for the marchers.
