The town of Mattapoisett is offering a new way to keep track of wandering kitty cats for free.

With the new cat identification program, residents can signup online with their cats’ pertinent information and photos. If a cat is lost or someone finds a stray, Animal Control can reference the geographic information system and the information about cats in the area where the animal was found to reunite pets and owners.

To signup, visit the town’s website, Mattapoisett.net, and click on the cat ID photo on the webpage.

Residents who cannot upload a photo may bring one to the Town Hall.
