Mattapoisett Police donate $2,000 for kids with cancer
Dec 11, 2014
On Tuesday, Mattapoisett Police officers gave $2,000 to Cops for Kids with Cancer. The nonprofit organization helps children and their caregivers cover the "financial domino effect" of cancer, including money to pay parking at the hospital, treatments not covered by insurance and car repairs.
Mattapoisett Police presented the check to Cops for Kids with Cancer Chairman Robert Faherty, also a retired Superintendent-in-Chief of Boston Police Department. The funds were part of the proceeds raised at the Mattapoisett Police Officer's Association golf tournament in October.
