Registration is now open for the Mattapoisett Road Race to be held on Independence Day.

The five-mile course winds through Mattapoisett Village around the Ned’s Point Lighthouse and back to Shipyard Park at the Town Wharf.

The race begins at 9 a.m.

Race proceeds are awarded to college bound runners at Old Rochester Regional High School.

Register online at www.mattapoisettroadrace.com. The cost is $15 until June 24 and then goes up to $20 until June 30.

Registration may also be mailed in and must be postmarked by June 22. The cost is $20. Download a registration form online and mail payment to Mattapoisett Road Race, P.O. Box 372, Mattapoisett, MA 02739.

T-shirt pickup and in person registration,  $20, can be done at Shipyard Park on July 3 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and July 4 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Registration the day of the event is $25.
