Mattapoisett Select Board approves ORCTV agreement

MATTAPOISETT — On Sept. 14, the Mattapoisett Select Board voted to approve an agreement with ORCTV that would renew the relationship between the nonprofit entity and the town after delaying the decision during a Tri-Town Select Board meeting on Sept. 1.

The delay was requested by Mattapoisett Select Board member Jordan Collyer in response to a memo sent by the Marion Select Board to ORCTV that Collyer said he had not had the chance to review yet.

The memo’s main concern was that representatives from Marion on the board of ORCTV, which is a nonprofit, not be called Town of Marion representatives, as they are not appointed by the town.

After having a chance to review the material, Collyer withdrew his concerns and the board quickly voted to approve the agreement.

“I had concerns on some of the issues that they raised but after further review it was deemed that we’re okay with the language the way it is,” said Collyer.
