Mar 19, 2020

MATTAPOISETT — Members of the Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to accept a $735,000 grant from the U.S Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration for improvements to Industrial Drive.

In a conference call meeting broadcast on ORCTV on March 19, former Town Administrator Michael Gagne explained that the federal grant will cover public work infrastructure improvements, a new paving of Industrial Drive, a nature-sensitive drainage system and improvements to the intersection of Industrial drive and North street.

The project will cost $1,470,000 in total and the remaining $735,000 will be supplied by funding from the town, which was passed in the October 2019 and January 2020 Town Meetings.
