Bishop Stang High School has announced that senior and Mattapoisett resident Regina Kaplan has been commended in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Students from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation place among the top five percent of the more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2014 competition by taking the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

“These students join many others with their ability to excel academically, demonstrate leadership and actively participate in a wide range of athletics and co-curricular activities – all the while acting with integrity and compassion in our faith-based community,” said Peter Shaughnessy, president and principal of Bishop Stang.
