Members needed for Friends of the Mattapoisett Council on Aging

Oct 8, 2018

Mattapoisett — The Friends of the Mattapoisett Council on Aging, which is a non-profit and non-governmental group, is in need of new members following a recent decrease in membership.

The FOTMCOA helps with Council on Aging programs and supplements the needs of senior citizens in Mattapoisett.

The group has purchased furnishings, appliances and televisions for the benefit of seniors frequenting the COA. Additionally, the group provides financial support to seniors in need of items such as new refrigerators and stoves.

The COA newsletter “Seasonings” is sponsored by the FOTMCOA and they host various event luncheons throughout the year to offer seniors the chance to meet with their peers for food and social emotional support.

Their fundraising efforts support COA programs, education and other needs for which public funds are either scarce or not available.

Potential members must be able to spend an hour once a month to attend the FOTMCOA meetings.
