Senior citizens at the Sippican Healthcare Center proved that a visit from Santa Claus is cause for celebration at any age.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus made an appearance on Dec. 18 during the care center’s annual Christmas celebration open to residents, family, friends and staff.

“They’re good friends of ours,” said Activities Director Anne O’Connell-Bishop. “The event is fun and relaxing for everyone. Who doesn’t love Mr. and Mrs. Claus?”

Seniors wore festive garb and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and eggnog while the Clauses shook hands and visited with everyone. Throughout the center’s first floor several trees were trimmed and decorations added to the festive atmosphere.

Later, the couple led everyone in Christmas carols.

“This is one of our favorite places to be,” Santa said.
