Municipal renovations move ahead

Jul 2, 2013

Town Administrator Richard LaCamera reported that renovations on three town buildings are going forward as planned.

At Town Hall, he said the work is “coming along nicely” as new furnaces and an air conditioning unit are scheduled for installation on July 15. After that, repairs to the building’s front stairs are slated.

Rain has slowed progress at the police station where roof repairs are 60 to 70 percent complete, LaCamera said. If clear skies are forecasted, LaCamera said work should be finished on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

Repairs at the fire station, estimated to cost $25,000, are underway. The station’s first floor is being reconfigured to add storage space, bathrooms, and sleeping quarters. Call firefighters will be doing a lot of the work. LaCamera noted electricians and carpenters are among department members.
