A new principal of Sippican Elementary School has been announced. 

Lynn Dessert was named principal of the elementary school in Marion effective July 1, according to a May 29 press release from the Old Rochester Regional School District.

Dessert has served since 2017 as the principal of Dighton Elementary School. 

She also previously was the principal of New Bedford’s John A. Parker School, according to the announcement.

Dessert said she was “excited” to be Sippican Elementary School’s next principal and “dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive school community that celebrates every student's strengths and fosters a love for learning and growth,” according to the press release.

Dessert has a Master of School Administration from American International College and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education from Bridgewater State University, the announcement said.
