Nomination papers available for Rochester town election

Nomination papers are available for Rochester’s upcoming election set for April 13.

Anyone interested in running for an open position must return papers to Town Hall before 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 24.

Selectman incumbent Brad Morse is running for re-election for a three-year term on the board. Also, the Old Rochester Regional School Committee has an opening for a two-year term following the resignation of James O’Brien. Last year, O’Brien was hired as the superintendent at the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.

Below is a complete list of the open seats: Rochester School Committee, one position; Park Commission, one position, three years; Cemetery Commission, one position; Library Trustees, two positions, five years; Planning Board, two positions, two years; Board of Assessors; Board of Health, one position, three years; Constable, two positions, three years; Highway Surveyor, one position, three years.
