It’s All About the Animals cat shelter will host Oktopurrfest, a free celebration for pet lovers of all ages on Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will be held at the shelter grounds, located at 103 Marion Road.

Activities include raffles and more than 20 vendors featuring gifts for cats, dogs and their human friends. Tours of the facility will be offered, too. Currently, there are more than 50 shelter cats up for adoption.

Vendors will include dog trainers, canine bakeries, groomers and masseurs specializing in massages for animals and their owners. Representatives from local shelters will be available to discuss their adoption programs.

The celebration also includes a children’s costume contest and a pumpkin decorating competition. Visitors may bring their own pumpkin or purchase one at the event.

Light refreshments will be sold. Attendees are advised to leave pets at home.
