Old Rochester Alumni Association to launch at homecoming game
MATTAPOISETT — Born from volunteer efforts from the Old Rochester Regional High School class of 1988 — with help from the classes of ‘85, ‘86, ‘87, ‘89 and ‘91 — the Bulldog Pride Alumni Association has formed to “provide much needed support to students and the school,” according to a press release from the organization.
The Bulldog Pride Alumni Association will be officially launched on Friday, Oct. 20 during the Old Rochester Regional High School Homecoming halftime. The launch will coincide with a full program of events open to all alumni and friends of Old Rochester from Friday, Oct. 20 through Sunday, Oct. 22.
All proceeds from the program of events will go directly to the association’s endowment fund. The Bulldog Pride Alumni Association has committed to funding the Bulldog Pride Award, an annual scholarship given to a graduating Old Rochester Regional High School senior, for the period of 2024 to 2029.
The award, founded in 2018, was the first-ever alumni-sponsored scholarship at Old Rochester Regional High School. Started by the Class of 1988, it has been awarded each year between 2019 and 2023.
“The overwhelming generosity and volunteer efforts of Old Rochester alumni has led us to this moment,” wrote the association in a press release. “As we stand on the precipice of a consequential time in the establishment of the [Bulldog Pride Alumni Association], we are looking for additional support to buttress these efforts. No idea is too great that cannot be achieved through the collective efforts of our community.”
