Old Rochester promenaders strike a pose
MATTAPOISETT — Dazzling divas and dashing dates stepped into the limelight at Old Rochester Regional High School’s promenade on Tuesday, May 27.
Couples, friends and triumphant trios strutted across the auditorium stage in their finest attire, sporting tuxes, sequin-sewn dresses, boutonnieres and corsages.
The promenade tradition takes place each year prior to the dance, which is taking place at the OceanCliff Hotel in Newport. Family and friends pack the auditorium to take pictures and get a final glance at the attendees in all their glamour.
Each group hits the stage with a short choreographed routine. Some attendees let their finger guns fly and hit the iconic “Charlie’s Angels” pose while others executed elaborate handshakes.
The audience whooped and cheered with each group’s short performance.
Senior traditions continue throughout this week, including the Senior Stroll on Friday, May 30 where students will visit their old elementary schools and graduation will place the next day on Saturday, May 31 at 11 a.m.
Here are some of the promenaders in their elegant attire.
