The public schools of Marion, Mattapoisett and Rochester, including Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School, have canceled school for Monday, October 29.

National Weather Service forecasters say Hurricane Sandy will likely arrive tonight, Sunday evening, and batter the area for days.

Coastal flood and high-wind warnings are in effect until Tuesday afternoon.
