Holden King was one of 12 students awarded a $1,000 scholarship in the First Citizens’ Annual Academic Scholarship Program.

The scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate a high level of academic excellence, leadership, and service to their community. In addition to the eight general
scholarships, one scholarship, in honor of Barbara Whitehead Silva, former President and CEO of the credit union, is awarded.

The remaining three scholarships are the Champion Family Scholarship, to recognize family members of teachers, EMT, police, firefighters and healthcare professionals for their service.
