To the Editor:

Route 6 traffic between Wareham and Fairhaven is under review by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to improve safety. 

Earlier in the year I approached Mark Sylvia regarding current and past motor vehicle accidents due to blind spots in some areas. Mark facilitated several discussions which brought about the updated speed signs now located East-and-West bound on Route 6 in Fairhaven. 

My experience dealing with Mark, his assistant Betty, the town of Fairhaven and the MassDOT representatives on this project couldn’t have gone better. All parties involved shared similar concerns; putting their experience, time and effort to bring these speed signs to fruition. 

My sincere gratitude to Mark Sylvia, Betty and the MassDOT. We are very fortunate to have them representing us.
