ORR Curriculum Director gets job upgrade

Oct 26, 2012

Old Rochester Regional High School’s new Assistant Superintendent is a familiar face around the district’s office.

Elise Frangos, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, was voted in as Assistant Superintendent by the Joint School Committee on Wednesday, October 25.

While Frangos' existing responsibilities will not change, the new title gives her more authority to make decisions when the Superintendent is unavailable as well as participate in negotiations.

“Under her current title, she has no governing authority,” said Superintendent Doug White. He added, “A big part of this decisions has to do with grants.”

White explained that under her current title, Frangos could not sign grants, an important part of her job.

Frangos said the new title would "facilitate" her work.

"It would grease the wheel."

The School Committee approved the change unanimously.
