To keep students from missing either their graduation or the state track tournament, Old Rochester Regional High School Principal Mike Devoll said graduation will be moved up an hour from 1 p.m. to noon on June 7.

In the past, some students have been forced to choose between the competition, which is later that day, or wearing a cap and gown. Undergraduates on the track team have also had to decide whether or not they would see their friends graduate or go to the meet.

Devoll said the change shouldn’t impact many travelers or affect time with families. He also said the school would make sure everyone was aware of the change.

“We will not leave one stone unturned,” said Devoll.
