The Old Rochester Regional High School swim and dive team is making a splash.

The boys team took first place for the fifth consecutive year at the SouthCoast Conference Feb. 3 in Seekonk.

The girls placed second.

Alex Desroches, co-head coach of the team with Sarah Robinson, credited the team’s success with “the hard work the kids put in during practices.’’

They find motivation in doing well, both for themselves and for their teammates, he said. “Even during some of the harder workouts, they’re not skipping laps. They wanted to show up and perform.’’

Individual standouts at the meet were:

On the boys’ team, Michael Holmes, first place, 100-yard breast stroke and 200-yard freestyle.

Sean Lund, first in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle.

Lund, Holmes, Jaymison Gunschel and Samuel Harris, first in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Holmes and Lund qualified for the sectionals Feb. 13 in Milford. The two also qualified, along with Gunschel, Harris and Zachary Travis, for the state meet Feb. 27 at Boston University.
