The Old Rochester Regional high debate team finished on top with the varsity A team going an undefeated 18-0, the only team to accomplish such a record in the Southeastern Massachusetts Debate League this year.

The four person varsity A team featured Ruhi Raje and Emily Audet as the affirmative speakers and Justin Smilan and John Hewitt as the negative speakers.

As the only undefeated debaters in the league, the final match of the season had the two pairs facing off against each other at the New Bedford High School auditorium. Audet and Raje took home the overall win.

The ORR debaters also took home several individual awards. Justin Smilan and John Hewitt were ranked first and second, respectively, for the varsity negative speakers.

Ruhi Raje and Emily Audet were ranked second and third, respectively in the varsity affirmative speaker cateogry.

Newcomers to the ORR team were recognized for their debating skills. James Goulart was ranked as the number 1 novice affirmative speaker, and Sahil Raje took home a number 5 ranking.

Jacob Spevak and Colleen Garcia won ninth place novice negative two-person team.
