MARION — Unleash your inner artist at the Marion Art Center’s two-day pastel workshop with artist Jean Hirons, a member of the Pastel Society of America and the Master Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the Marion Center Center Studio.

Throughout the workshop, students will work on their own landscape painting using soft pastel.

Attendees will learn about various techniques and the use of abstract underpaintings that Hirons uses as a basis for landscapes.

While the class is available to students of all levels, some drawing and painting experience with pastel is required.

Registration is available online at marionartcenter.org/events and costs $195 for members and $225 for non-members. A list of materials will be sent to participants upon registration.
