Parts of Marion to be sprayed due to West Nile Virus cases

MARION — Another mosquito sample in Marion has tested positive for West Nile Virus, moving the town into the moderate risk category.

The Plymouth County Mosquito Control will spray areas of town on Friday, Aug. 15 between 2 a.m. and dusk to manage the spread.

West Nile Virus is a mosquito-borne disease that can cause illness ranging from a mild fever to more serious diseases like meningitis and is most commonly spread to people through the bite of an infected mosquito.
