The public is invited to pick cranberries in the Buzzard Bay Coalition's Mattapoisett River Reserve on Acushnet Road where there are 50 acres of retired bogs.

Coalition staff will talk about the history and ecological importance of the property, which has been protected forever to preserve its natural features.

The event is Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 to 11 a.m.
