Plumb Library book clubs
The 2016 theme for Plumb Library's Cafe Parlez fiction book club is “Let Me Tell You a Story...Unusual and Unreliable Narrators.”
The Cafe Parlez selection for January is "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime" by Mark Haddon. The book centers around 15-year-old Christopher who has Asperger's Syndrome. When he discovers his neighbor's dog has been murdered with a garden fork, he decides to emulate his hero, Sherlock Holmes, and solve the case. This sets off a chain of events that threatens to tear his world apart.
The discussion for this book will be Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m.
The Just the Facts nonfiction book group will meet on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" by John Berendt.
The book looks at the May 2, 1981 shooting of a man in one of Savannah, Georgia's mansions. Whether or not it was a murder or self defense is examined along with the characters and place of Savannah as the case goes to trial.
Copies for both books are available at the library desk.
