ROCHESTER — The Plymouth County Register of Deeds will be in Rochester on April 2 to answer questions about deeds, mortgages, or how to use registry technology.
The Register, John Buckley Jr. and his staff will hold office hours at the Rochester Town Hall Conference Room from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Registry is a resource for homeowners, title examiners, mortgage lenders, municipalities and others with a need for secure, accurate, accessible land record information.
Although Registry staff cannot provide legal advice, they will be able to answer basic questions, provide general information, take a document for recording and assist in filling out Homestead Declaration Form
The Register and his staff can also answer more technical questions on the Massachusetts Homestead Act, the status of your mortgage discharge, or offer a demonstration of how registry technology works. No appointment is necessary.
Town Counsel Blair Bailey recommends the open house to learn about the Register’s technology. “People should know how to do it. It’s a long way to drive to Plymouth to do it when you can online.” said Bailey, at a Selectmen’s meeting.
