Poetry is always celebrated in April at the Mattapoisett Library, and this year is no exception. Two poetry readings for adults and a children's poetry program are free and open to the public.

On Sunday, April 17th at 2:30 pm, poets Heidi Dube, Ani Dasgupta, and Margot Wizansky will be reading from their work. A reception will follow the reading to be held in the downstairs meeting room.

Children ages 6-12 are invited to join poet Steven Withrow in exploring sounds and word fun during school vacation week. Sign up for the program to be held on Tuesday, April 19th from 2 to 3 pm.

The Friends of the Mattapoisett Library are presenting a reading by poet Margaret Gibson on Saturday, April 23rd at 2 pm. The title poem of her most recent collection "Broken Cup" has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Books will be available for purchase and signing during the reception that follows the poetry reading.

The library is located at 7 Barstow Street in Mattapoisett village. To register for the programs, call 508-758-4171.
