Police Brotherhood collects toy donations

Dec 12, 2013

Parents and children ate breakfast, colored and visited with Santa, all compliments of the Marion Police Brotherhood’s second annual “Pancakes with Santa” held in Sippican School.

The Saturday, Dec. 7 event also served as a drop-off site for donations of new unwrapped toys. This year donations were collected to benefit the Community Care Services and Justice Resource Institute Intensive Foster Care and Adoption program, located in Berkley, Mass.

The institute’s program places children in foster homes throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. It provides intensive therapeutic family care for children and adolescents who have experienced significant trauma and hardship.

On Thursday, Dec. 12, institute representatives came to the Marion Police Department to pick up the donations. The donations will be distributed to program families to help ensure a wonderful Christmas.

The Marion Police Department and the Marion Police Brotherhood extends thanks to all who volunteered, attended and donated gifts to make the event a success.
